Ollex Enterprises LLC is the merchant of record and payment processor for purchases made through vendor brands' checkouts. SMS order updates are an optional convenience. Receiving SMS is never required to purchase or receive any service. Customers who decline SMS receive all order updates and receipts by email. This page documents how optional SMS consent is captured.
How consent is captured
Ollex Enterprises uses a two-step opt-in, and SMS is gated behind an explicit optional choice at checkout:
1. Optional choice at checkout. At checkout, the customer sees an optional dropdown: "SMS order updates? Yes, text me / No thanks (email only)." Selecting "No thanks," or not selecting anything, means the customer is never sent any SMS. Service and order updates continue by email. Choosing "No thanks" has no effect on the customer's order or service.
2. Opt-in SMS (only if the customer chose "Yes"). For customers who selected "Yes, text me," our system sends one opt-in SMS after payment. For an order with our vendor brand US Truck Repair, the exact message is:
Ollex Enterprises: We processed your payment for your US Truck Repair order. Reply YES to receive text updates: a delivery confirmation, your payment receipt, and replies from support if you ask us a question. Up to 5 messages per order. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Details: ollexenterprises.com/sms-terms
The vendor brand name is dynamically inserted based on the brand the customer purchased from. No other text varies.
3. Customer reply. Only if the customer replies YES do we log consent (timestamp, phone number, vendor brand name, opt-in message ID) and send a confirmation:
Ollex Enterprises: You're enrolled for SMS updates on your US Truck Repair order. You'll receive a delivery confirmation, your payment receipt, and replies from support if you ask a question. Up to 5 messages per order. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.
If the customer does not reply YES, no further SMS is sent. If the customer replies STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, or STOPALL, the number is added to a persistent opt-out list and blocked until the customer replies START or UNSTOP.
4. Subsequent transactional SMS. Only customers who selected "Yes" at checkout and then replied YES receive subsequent transactional SMS, limited to: a delivery confirmation request, a payment receipt or refund notification, and a reply from our support team if the customer contacts us. No marketing or promotional messages are sent.
SMS is optional
A customer can complete any purchase, receive the full service, and receive all order updates and receipts without ever opting into SMS. SMS is an optional enhancement selected by the customer at checkout and confirmed by SMS reply. It is never a condition of purchase or service.
Why two-step opt-in
Stripe's hosted checkout does not support a dedicated SMS consent checkbox; it supports a single Terms-of-Service checkbox and optional dropdown custom fields. PayPal's hosted flow provides no SMS consent UI. Ollex therefore captures the customer's optional interest via a checkout dropdown and confirms consent via an SMS YES reply. This pattern is TCPA-compliant and aligns with CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices.
Records retained
For each customer who opts in, Ollex retains: the checkout SMS-dropdown selection, the timestamp of the opt-in SMS sent, the customer's phone number, the vendor brand name, the timestamp and content of the YES reply, and any subsequent STOP/HELP replies. Records are retained as described in our Privacy Policy.
